How we can assist children with disabilities

Support Services for Children

Next Gen Care provides significant support and assistance to children with disabilities. We aim to ensure that children with disabilities have access to the necessary support and services to reach their full potential.

Assessment & Eligibility

It is important to note that eligibility for the NDIS is assessed on a case-by-case basis, considering the child’s disability, functional impact, and residency status. At Next Gen Care  we take a person-centered approach, involving the child and their family in the planning and decision-making process.

Key aspects of disability support for children

Early Intervention Services

Next Gen Care recognises the importance of early intervention in maximising a child’s development and reducing the long-term impact of disabilities. We help provide funding for early intervention services such as therapies, assessments, and specialised supports for children aged 0 to 6 years who have developmental delays or disabilities.

Individualised Support Plans

Together with our NDIS approved professional therapists and carers, we develop individualised support plans for eligible children with disabilities. These plans are tailored to the child’s specific needs, goals, and circumstances. The plans outline the supports and services required to help the child participate in daily activities, education, and community life.

Access to Allied Health Services:

We provide support for various allied health services that help children with disabilities. This includes occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy, psychology, behavior support, and assistive technology. These services aim to enhance the child’s physical, cognitive, communication, and social skills.

Access to Equipment and Assistive Technology

At Next Gen Care connect our NDIS participants that provide funding to assist with the purchase or rental of equipment and assistive technology. These technologies can improve a child’s independence and participation. This may include mobility aids, communication devices, sensory equipment, and modifications to the home or school environment.

Capacity Building and Skill Development

Next Gen Care in coordination with our NDIS approved partners, provides funding for programs and activities that promote independence, social interaction, communication, and daily living skills. This includes support for participation in community activities, sports, recreational programs, and educational support.

Therapeutic Supports

We connect NDIS participants with therapeutic supports to assist children with disabilities in achieving their goals. These supports may involve individual therapy sessions, group therapy programs, behaviour management strategies, and specialised interventions to address specific needs and challenges.

Assistance for Families and Carers

Next Gen Care recognises the role of families and carers in supporting children with disabilities. We help provide support to families and carers through respite services, training programs, counselling, and information resources to help them navigate the challenges of caring for a child with a disability.
